MORTIFICATION: New Album Delayed

February 23, 2004

Due to "artwork delays," Australian Christian metallers MORTIFICATION have been forced to postpone the release of their twelfth studio album, "Brain Cleaner", to March.

The follow-up to 2002's "Relentless", which will surface on the Rowe Productions label, is said to be "the heaviest project the band has recorded in 10 years" and is being described as "a lot more of a death metal/grind-orientated album but with plenty of power and thrash metal mixed in to keep it interesting and multi-dimensional."

"Brain Cleaner" will mark the recording debut with the group of drummer Mike Forsberg (ex-CYBERGRIND),who replaced Adam Zaffarese last year. Artwork was once again handled by Troy Dunmire ("Primitive Rhythm Machine", "Envision Evangeline", "Triumph of Mercy", "Relentless"),but "Brain Cleaner" represents his "most adventurous" piece to date, according to the group. MORTIFICATION's lineup is completed by Steve Rowe on bass/vocals and Mick Jelinic on guitar.
