More OZZFEST Speculation: OZZY OSBOURNE Solo To Replace IRON MAIDEN On Last Seven Shows?

A Clear Channel event detail page for the August 27 stop on the Ozzfest 2005 tour is listing OZZY OSBOURNE separately from BLACK SABBATH as one of the artists performing at the show, leading to speculation that OZZY may be replacing IRON MAIDEN on the last seven dates of the trek.

Although Ozzfest's official web site had previously listed VELVET REVOLVER as part of the lineup of bands scheduled for the August 27 date of Ozzfest, in Woodlands, Texas, the band's name has since been taken off the posting, according to Launch Radio Networks. The trek's primary co-headliners, IRON MAIDEN, will not appear on those shows due to a previous touring commitment overseas. No replacement act has been announced yet by Ozzfest organizers.

Ozzfest kicks off on July 15 in Mansfield, Massachusetts. Other acts confirmed for the tour include ROB ZOMBIE, KILLSWITCH ENGAGE, BLACK LABEL SOCIETY, SHADOWS FALL and more.

The "Bands" page at Ozzfest.com indicates that a main stage "mystery act" will be revealed shortly. It's been rumored to be the "classic" version of ANTHRAX, which officially announced its reunion last week.
