MONGREL Seeking New Bassist

December 29, 2010

MONGREL, the female-fronted aggressive punk-rock-metal band known as "the hardest working band in Boston" (Metal Edge) is looking for a new bassist. The group's bassist of the last five years, Rev, will be stepping down at the beginning of February.

"Rev has been a valued member of this band and good friend for five years now and while we're certainly disappointed he's not able to continue with the band, we certainly respect his decision, are on excellent terms with him, and wish him nothing but the best," stated band founder Adam Savage. "Being the class act that he's been throughout his five years in the band, Rev let us know his intent to leave a couple months ago and still was more than willing to record his parts for our new full length album."

Recording and mixing for MONGREL's new full-length album (due out in April or May) was completed a couple of weeks ago by Jim Foster (NULLSET, POD, GRAVEYARD BBQ) at White Sight and Sound in Framingham, Massachusetts.

The band's last release, the six-song "The New Breed of Old School" EP, came out this past fall.

MONGREL recently signed on with manager Damon Moreno at The Inner Light Agency (DESTROPHY, HELL WITHIN) and is currently entertaining options for the release of the new album.

MONGREL's final shows with Rev on bass:

Jan. 13 - Chop Shop, Seabrook NH (18+)
Jan. 15 - Anchors Up, Haverhill, MA (all ages)
Jan. 19 - Church, Boston MA (21+)
Jan. 28 - Platinum Premier, Worcester, MA
Jan. 29- The Silver Fern, Claremont NH (21+)
Feb. 03 - Club 58, Quincy, MA (21+, w/ Sex Slaves)
Feb. 04 - London Billiards, Worcester, MA (18+)
