In related news, Jerry Only's long-awaited MISFITS side project showcasing punk covers of 1950s-era classics, dubbed PROJECT 1950, has finished recording its debut album, due later in the year.

Featuring the all-star core lineup of Jerry, Marky and Dez, PROJECT 1950 includes a special guest vocal appearance by '60s icon Ronnie Spector on two tracks and keyboards by Jimmy Destri (of BLONDIE) on two tracks. The release is "truly unique and not to be perceived as a traditional MISFITS album but rather a special project," reads an official press release. Only states: "The backbone of punk has always been the 3-chord progression which was ultimately inspired by classic rock and roll of the 1950's. I've always wanted to record some of the music that inspired the MISFITS to show fiends where it all began. With this album...I will."

A special MP3 sneak preview clip of the DEL SHANNON classic "Runaway" from the upcoming "Project 1950" CD can be downloaded from this location.
