MINI GENE Explains The Origins Of MINI KISS

Todd Hyman of the Long Island Press caught up with Joey Fatale, who plays the role of Gene Simmons in the vertically challenged cover band MINI KISS. "Here's the deal," says Fatale of his band. "There's this bar in the city called the Lava Lounge. Me and Mikey [O'Connor, Mini Ace] used to go there every Halloween since 1992 — we were doin' Oompa Loompas or some shit every year. And one day, [the owner of the Lava Lounge] calls me up and says, 'Joey, I want something different. I'm gonna give you two, three days to come up with something new.' So I said to Mike, 'We gotta come up with a good idea. Something heavy metal.' Then we were looking through my CDs and saw KISS. Boom." Read more.
