MINDCAGE Taps Legendary Producer MICHAEL WAGENER For New Album Mix

October 28, 2012

Florida-based progressive metal band MINDCAGE will enter WireWorld Studios, just outside of Nashville, Tennesse in December with producer Michael Wagener (OZZY OSBOURNE, METALLICA, MEGADETH, MÖTLEY CRÜE, W.A.S.P., OVERKILL, ACCEPT) to complete work on its new concept album, "Our Own Devices", for an early 2013 release. Wagener has offered to produce the lead vocals and guitar solos, as well as mix and master the CD at his state-of-the-art facility.

"Michael Wagener is the perfect producer to guide MINDCAGE in bringing our vision of the steam-prog culture to the world through the story of Arabella Vash." states MINDCAGE guitarist Dietrick Hardwick. "The band is very excited to stay in Nashville the entire month of December and work with Michael Wagener to complete this extraordinary vision."

Set in an alternate history of a highly plausible future, "Our Own Devices" warns of what may become of our society if we turn our backs on the importance of arts, music, humanities, and spirituality. It also introduces the world to Arabella Vash, a woman on a mission to awaken and enlighten a world gone wrong. Her message is sure to shake humanity to its very core.

With "Our Own Devices", MINDCAGE is poised to introduce a new musical concept termed steam-prog which combines elements of melodic and progressive rock opera music with the steampunk stylings of Victorian ethos and technology. Expanding beyond the music, steam-prog encompasses fashion, art, and attitude, making this revolutionary new sound a sub-culture within itself.

MINDCAGE's debut EP, entitled "Encapsulation", came out in 2000.
