In a recent interview with Decibel magazine, ARCH ENEMY/CARCASS guitarist Michael Amott was asked about the status of CARCASS, which reunited for a few festival appearances in 2008 and has played a number of dates since."The last show we played was a festival in Finland last summer," Amott said. We actually only did a handful of shows last year." He continued, "The CARCASS reunion was obviously an amazing thing for us, and for me personally it was amazing to reconnect with Bill Steer, Jeff Walker and Ken Owen. It was initially just supposed to be a handful of shows in 2008, but then all this other stuff got added on. It was a good time for me, because we were restructuring our whole business setup with ARCH ENEMY. But I told Jeff and Bill last summer that I have to prioritize the new ARCH ENEMY album. So, I don't really know what they're planning. It's their band, really. They put out two albums before I joined the band, and they put one out after I left. [Laughs] "I hope we can do some more shows together when ARCH ENEMY slows down again, but they're obviously free to do whatever they wanna do. I don't know what they're planning, though. It seems like they're keeping a lid on that." Professionally filmed video footage of CARCASS' performance at last year's Graspop Metal Meeting, which took place June 25-27, 2010 in Dessel, Belgium, can be viewed at this location. One of the clips is available below. CARCASS's most recent lineup was as follows: Bill Steer (FIREBIRD) - Vocals, Guitar
Jeff Walker (BRUJERIA) - Vocals, Bass
Michael Amott (ARCH ENEMY) - Guitar
Daniel Erlandsson (ARCH ENEMY) - Drums Although CARCASS guitarist Bill Steer hinted in the press that a new studio album from the band was a possibility, vocalist/bassist Jeff Walker told Revolver magazine in 2009 interview, "I'm waiting for Bill to confirm it, just like you! It's gone from 'No' to 'Maybe' to 'Never say never' just spit it out, God damn it! We never wanted to be one of those bands that reformed, played again, and then [went on to be] totally lackluster and uninspired."
