METALLICA, PUDDLE OF MUDD Confirmed For 'America's Party'

METALLICA and PUDDLE OF MUDD are among the acts set to perform on New Year's Eve (Dec. 31) for Fox's "America's Party" celebration, according to Billboard.com. Also featuring ASHANTI, HOOTIE & THE BLOWFISH, WESTSIDE CONNECTION, KEITH URBAN and DJ FUNKMASTER FLEX, the event will air live from Las Vegas at 11 p.m. ET (tape-delayed for the West Coast).

Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie will host the celebration. Additional performers will be announced prior to the show.

"America's Party" will take place in Las Vegas' Venetian Resort Hotel/Casino. The performances will be augmented by footage of the parties along Las Vegas' famed strip, as well as live coverage of the Times Square New Year's celebration in New York.

METALLICA are scheduled to perform a late-night show at the Hard Rock's nightclub the Joint shortly after their Fox TV appearance.
