METALLICA Nominated For Two MTV EUROPE MUSIC AWARDS

METALLICA has been nominated in the "Rock Out" and "Headliner" categories at the 2008 MTV Europe Music Awards, which will be broadcast live from the Liverpool Echo Arena in Liverpool, England on Thursday, November 6.

Between September 29 and November 2, MTV viewers will be able to vote at www.mtvema.com to decide who will win in each category.

The nominees in the "Rock Out" and "Headliner" categories are as follows:

LINKIN PARK
METALLICA
THE CURE
TOKIO HOTEL

Rock Out:

30 SECONDS TO MARS
LINKIN PARK
METALLICA
PARAMORE
SLIPKNOT

"The range of this year's finalists really does demonstrate the breadth of taste of the MTV audience," says MTV Europe Music Awards executive producer Richard Godfrey.

"Alongside such superstars as BEYONCÉ, PINK and BRITNEY, MTV viewers have recognized the massive talent of bands such as THE CURE, GREEN DAY and the FOO FIGHTERS as well as new artists KATY PERRY, DUFFY and JONAS BROTHERS."
