Current band members James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett, and Robert Trujillo have added new material, including an introduction and hand-written notes and comments throughout. The book was edited by Steffan Chirazi, full-time chronicler of the band and editor of "So What!" magazine, a quarterly that is mailed to 20,000 members of the METALLICA fan club.

In other news, IFC Films are running a contest for a chance to win a 30-minute Q&A interview over the phone with the filmmakers of the METALLICA documentary "Metallica: Some Kind of Monster"Joe Berlinger and Bruce Sinofsky. Bring 10 friends to a screening between July 28 and August 3, preferably a daytime show. Send your name, the names in your group, the theater and showtime you attended, and your phone number to [email protected] Winner will be drawn on Wednesday, August 4. One entry per group.
