METALLICA Frontman Plans 34-Unit Lucas Valley Subdivision

February 17, 2011

According to the Marin Independent Journal, METALLICA frontman James Hetfield is seeking to subdivide the lower part of his property in Lucas Valley, a community in Marin County, California, to provide 34 home sites.

"There will be plenty of opportunities for community review and comment," Supervisor Susan Adams told the Marin Independent Journal, noting formal review of the project could be a year or more away. "I will be engaged with my community along the way."

Back in 2009, Hetfield donated 330 acres overlooking Lucas Valley for preservation as farmland. It followed Hetfield's earlier gift to the county of more than 400 acres for open space.
