MELISSA AUF DER MAUR To Support THE OFFSPRING In North America

March 26, 2004

Former HOLE/SMASHING PUMPKINS bassist Melissa Auf Der Maur will support THE OFFSPRING on their North American tour beginning May 11 in Minneapolis, according to Billboard.com.

Auf Der Maur will be on the road to promote her solo debut, "Auf Der Maur", due on May 18 through Capitol Records.

"We did a three-week tour in Europe and January and it was all new," she told Billboard.com. "We only really put together guitar pedal boards that won't break last week!

"I just got a new member to do additional interludes/extra guitar/back-up vocals named Josh," she added. "The first time I ever met him was at a PUMPKINS in-store in Minneapolis and he was wearing a FAILURE shirt. Years later, I was looking for someone to play this role in my band and in came this guy!"
