MELIAH RAGE Signs With METAL ON METAL RECORDS

April 22, 2011

Metal On Metal Records has announced the signing of the Boston power/thrash veterans MELIAH RAGE. The band is currently putting the finishing touches on its seventh studio album, entitled "Dead To The World", for a July release to coincide with the band's first in 21 years visit in Europe.

Commented MELIAH RAGE: "It's official — we have signed with Italy's Metal On Metal Records! After going through a courting process with a few labels from around the globe, we are psyched to be working with Metal On Metal. Jowita and Simone (label heads) are true professionals, full-on metalheads, and the real deal, and we're looking forward to the journey ahead.

"We're currently wrapping things up in the studio on our next full-length, 'Dead to the World', slated for a July release. This will coincide with our first visit to Europe in over 20 years as we hit the Headbangers Open Air festival in Germany in late July, and we'll be looking to return for a proper tour in the fall/winter."

MELIAH RAGE recently released a video for its cover version of "Halo Of Flies", originally recorded by ALICE COOPER on the legendary rocker's 1971 album "Killer".

MELIAH RAGE reunited with singer Paul Souza this past winter to lay down the track to be used as a bonus cut on the remixed version of the band's 2004 release, "Barely Human". The song was recorded and produced by Peter Rutcho at Red Devil Recording and mixed at Damage Studios. The video was produced by Branden Maxham and Brad Piche of Omnidawn Productions.

The remixed version of "Barely Human", to be titled "Barely Human Remix", was mixed by Ted Ostrander at Red Devil Recording in Stoughton, Massachusetts and will be released later this spring. Guitarist Anthony Nichols has always felt that "Barely Human" contained some of the band's strongest material, but time constraints during the original mixing process in 2004 led to less-than-stellar results.

MELIAH RAGE's original singer Mike Munro has become very dedicated to his church and recently spent time volunteering in Haiti. He subsequently felt these and other missions of goodwill would not allow him the flexibility of schedule to tour with MELIAH RAGE.

Souza recorded two albums with MELIAH RAGE"Barely Human" and 2006's "The Deep And Dreamless Sleep". In addition, he toured with the band when it supported METAL CHURCH across the U.S. in 2007.

"We feel very fortunate that we have the ability to work with Paul, complete this CD and play some shows," explained MELIAH RAGE founder Anthony Nichols.

Souza was the singer when the band toured with METAL CHURCH across the U.S. in 2007.
