MEGADETH To Rock For Darfur

October 31, 2007

According to PerthNow, MEGADETH is one of the bands taking part in the second annual "Rock for Darfur" event on Saturday, November 10.

This one-day philanthropic concert-event was created by MySpace to generate awareness and raise funds for the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Sudan. It sees the world’s biggest music names uniting to make a positive impact on the Darfur crisis.

This massive global event will see concerts take place across four continents and showcase bands passionate about promoting peace in the troubled African region.

Fans can show their support for the cause by attending one of the local concerts taking place.

The Australian lineup for "Rock for Darfur" on November 10 includes MEGADETH's concert at Metro City in Perth. Also scheduled to appear are STATIC-X, LACUNA COIL and DEVILDRIVER.

MySpace has arranged for a portion of all proceeds from each concert, to be donated to Oxfam America, a leading international relief and development organization, and to the Save Darfur Coalition, an alliance of more than 180 faith-based, advocacy and human rights organizations, united together to help the people of Darfur.

The Save Darfur Coalition raises public awareness about the ongoing genocide in Darfur and mobilises a unified response to the atrocities that threaten the lives of people throughout the Darfur region.
