MEGADETH's MUSTAINE Explains Decision To Contribute Music To 'Land Of The Lost' Movie

For those of you who saw Will Ferrell ("Anchorman", "Talladega Nights") take on the old Sid and Marty Croft fave "Land of the Lost", you may have been hit over the head by a little bit of soundtrack music that sounded familiar — make that MEGA-familiar! A few weeks ago, literally just as the film was locking in its sound, Dave Mustaine got a call to take off a day from the making of the new MEGADETH album to add some riffs for Chaka, Grumpy or whatever that damn dinosaur was called and the ever-awesome Sleestaks!

"I thought that the show was really scary as a kid, even though I knew it was fake!" says Dave. So when Ferrell decided to take a swing at the show, Dave bit at the chance to be part of it! "I loved how Will Ferrell brought life to his part, but he is one of my faves anyway, so that was a shoo-in!"

MEGADETH has completed the recording process for its twelfth studio album at the band's own Vic's Garage studio in San Marcos, California. The CD was once again helmed by acclaimed British producer Andy "Undie" Sneap, who produced MEGADETH's last album, "United Abominations" (May 2007, Roadrunner Records). Songtitles set to appear on the album include "Headcrusher", "Nothing Left To Lose", "Bite The Hand That Feeds", "1320", "How The Story Ends", "This Day We Fight" and "Endgame".

Tentatively due in September via Roadrunner, MEGADETH's forthcoming LP will be the group's first with guitarist Chris Broderick, who replaced Glen Drover at the end of 2007.
