MEGADETH Performs New Song 'Gears Of War' At Six Flags: Video Available

November 2, 2006

A video clip of MEGADETH performing the new track "Gears of War" during the band's short concert at the "Gears of War - Match Made In Hell" event on Tuesday (Oct. 31) at Six Flags New England (located in Springfield, Massachusetts) has been posted online at YouTube.com. "Gears of War" and Xbox were both sponsors of the Gigantour this year, and MEGADETH has written a song entitled "Gears of War", which is slated to appear on the band's new album, "United Abominations". MEGADETH's setlist was as follows:

01. Devil's Island
02. Gears of War
03. Take No Prisoners
04. Washington Is Next
05. Holy Wars

According to one MEGADETH fan who attended the show, it was announced at the event that "United Abominations" will be released on March 20, 2007 via Roadrunner Records.

As previously reported, MEGADETH has tapped British producer Andy Sneap (NEVERMORE, MACHINE HEAD, ARCH ENEMY, CRADLE OF FILTH) to mix "United Abominations".

"United Abominations" will include a cover of LED ZEPPELIN's "Out on the Tiles", which MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine has previously described as one of the CD's highlights. "It could be the best song," he said. "I think it rocks!"
