MATT SORUM Says VELVET REVOLVER Will Play Last Ten OZZFEST Dates

April 1, 2005

Launch Radio Networks is reporting that VELVET REVOLVER has firmed up plans to be part of this year's Ozzfest tour. Drummer Matt Sorum said the group will play 10 Ozzfest dates, commencing on August 16 in West Valley City, Utah. The last seven dates will be in lieu of IRON MAIDEN, which drops off the bill on August 20. Sorum said his band is looking forward to the tour. "They've asked us to be the second on the slot, so I mean, we're going on right before [BLACK] SABBATH," he said. "That's gonna be pretty cool. And then there's a lot of really heavy bands on the bill. They're counting on us to bring out a lot of fans. I mean, I think that they think it's gonna be cool to have us on the bill, and that's why they invited us."

Ozzfest wraps up on September 4 in West Palm Beach, Florida. VELVET REVOLVER recently started a North American arena tour that lasts until May 25. The group will head to Europe in June and early July.

VELVET REVOLVER resumes its current tour on April 12 in Chula Vista, California.
