MASTODON, AGAINST ME! Get Tour Off To 'Roaring' Start

May 2, 2007

MTV.com reports: "MASTODON and AGAINST ME! got their tour off to a roaring start Tuesday night at Los Angeles' Wiltern LG. AGAINST ME! gave a rousing set, with the bandmembers flinging a seemingly limitless supply of spit across the stage and frontman Tom Gabel wishing everyone a happy May Day. The punks in attendance streamed out after that band's performance, but the metalheads stayed for MASTODON's challenging set of prog-metal mayhem. The head-scratching bill — rounded out by spiffily dressed indie squad CURSIVE and Denver experimental noise-rockers PLANES MISTAKEN FOR STARS — hits San Francisco's Warfield Wednesday night."

Each night on the MASTODON/AGAINST ME! tour, there will be a raffle to give away an Epiphone guitar signed by both bands at the end of the show. Just fill out the raffle form that will be in the merch area of the venue — make sure to fill it out completely — and the winner will be announced immediately after MASTODON's set. Must be present to win.

MASTODON is touring behind its critically acclaimed current album "Blood Mountain", which includes the No. 1 metal and Grammy-nominated single "Colony of Birchmen". The band was recently tapped as a "Discover & Download" artist on MTV.
