MARILYN MANSON To Call 'Action!' This Summer

February 1, 2006

Launch Radio Networks reports: Cameras will roll this summer on MARILYN MANSON's first film as a director, called "Phantasmagoria - The Visions of Lewis Carroll". According to HorrorChannel.com, the film will be shot in Europe. Manson will play the title character, who was the author of "Alice In Wonderland", in addition to handling the score, co-writing the script and directing. Model Lily Cole will play Alice, while Angelina Jolie has reportedly been approached to appear as the Red Queen.

Manson has directed a number of his own music videos, and told Launch he feels comfortable with the idea of helming a feature film. "Directing films is something that I think would suit me very well," he said. "I like films, I think films are very suited towards my esthetic."

Manson is slated to appear in a few other movies in 2006, including a supernatural thriller called "Rise", a film called "King Shot" with Nick Nolte, and star and director Asia Argento's "The Heart Is Deceitful Above All Things".

He's also interested in producing a three-film series from stories by Edgar Allan Poe.

Manson has been working on his sixth studio album, which he hopes to release this spring.
