MARILYN MANSON: 'Personal Jesus' Video Posted Online

September 1, 2004

MARILYN MANSON's video for his cover of DEPECHE MODE's "Personal Jesus" has been posted online at Launch.com.

"Personal Jesus" is the first single off Manson's upcoming "best of" collection, "Lest We Forget", due on September 28 via Interscope. The compilation will contain rare photos and artwork by Manson himself. The "deluxe edition" will feature an accompanying DVD containing "the entire video catalog," including the previously unreleased uncensored clip for "(s)AINT", directed by Italian actress Asia Argento.

As previously reported, MARILYN MANSON is scheduled to perform "Personal Jesus" at the German awards show Comet 2004 on September 24. This event will mark the first public performance by Manson in 2004 since the Grotesk Burlesk tour's completion last December. Other acts scheduled to perform on the show include AVRIL LAVIGNE, R.E.M. and NELLY FURTADO. Manson will also introduce his "buddy" Avril Lavigne when she performs on the Fox TV show "Fashion Rocks" on September 8 in New York City. The event will be televised on Fox on September 26.

MARILYN MANSON will host a live tribute to THE CURE on September 17. The show — part of MTV's "Icon" series — will feature performances and testimonials from artists and celebrities who cite THE CURE as a significant influence upon their work. It will be held at Old Billingsgate Market in London, and screened in October.
