MANNHAI Part Ways With Singer, Vow To Carry On

November 5, 2004

Vocalist Joanitor Muurinen (ex-XYSMA) has decided to leave Finnish "stoner rockers" MANNHAI, according to a posting on the group's web site. "He'll perform on the next few gigs with us, but after that we will go our separate ways. The split is not acrimonious, far from it, and we'll remain good friends. Janitor will now concentrate on his studies of fine arts, and music wise he'll be doing something completely different. We are sad to lose him, but this will not signal the end of the band. In a few months time we are hoping to announce a successor to Janitor.

"With only a short time left with The Mighty J, we will make the most of it by playing our final gigs with the usual 110% intensity, albeit with a slight hue of melancholy.

"An end of a chapter, a beginning of a new one..."

MANNHAI's third album, "The Exploder", was released on April 5 through Ranch Records. The follow-up to 2002's "Evil Under the Sun" was mixed at Soundtracks studio in Helsinki with producer Jürgen Hendlmeier (FLAMING SIDEBURNS, MUTANTS) and was mastered by Björn Engelmann at Cutting Room in Stockholm.
