MALIGNO To Support IRON MAIDEN In Mexico

March 15, 2011

Mexican doom rockers MALIGNO will support IRON MAIDEN on the Mexican leg of their "The Final Frontier" world tour.

The dates are as follows:

March 17 - Monterrey, México – Auditorio Banamex
March 18 – Ciudad de México – Foro Sol

MALIGNO states: "We feel very thrilled and honored for this opportunity and to share the stage with a heavy metal legend and monster of a band as IRON MAIDEN also returning to Mexico City and playing the Foro Sol and the new auditorium in our hometown Monterrey."

MALIGNO released its second album, "Universevil", on September 1, 2008 in Mexico via Iguana & Asenath Records. The CD was named one of the top ten albums of 2008 by a Latin artist by the Mexican edition of Rolling Stone magazine, and was honored in the "Best Metal Album" category at the Indie-O awards, which recognizes the best of independent music in Mexico.

MALIGNO recently finished mixing its third album in Los Angeles, California with American producer/engineer Billy Anderson (MELVINS, NEUROSIS, CATHEDRAL, SLEEP). The CD was recorded by MALIGNO at La Nave studios in Monterrey, Mexico and features collaborations with the acclaimed Mexican guitar duo RODRIGO Y GABRIELA and TESTAMENT guitar legend Alex Skolnick. The album will be mastered by Alan Douches at West West Side Music (CONVERGE, HATEBREED, THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN) in New Windsor, New York. A May release is expected.
