June 2, 2008

Dutch metallers MAGNACULT will headline the second stage of the Wantijpop festival in Dordrecht, the Netherlands on Saturday, June 14. The band will also perform at the METALmere Headrock Festival the same day (June 14) at De Meester in Almere, the Netherlands.

METALmere Headrock Festival billing:

MAGNACULT
FORCEFEED
BLIND SIGHT
F.R.E.U.D.
A NEW HOPE
TRIBAL SPIRITS
FAKE FREEDOM

Commented MAGNACULT in a statement: "It's going to be an awesome evening for us doing two festivals in one night. We are fully ready to thrash at both festivals and give the crowds our best. It's good to see that the Dutch metal scene is getting bigger and bigger. The METALmere Headrock Festival is organized because there have been no metal bands for years in Almere so we are honored to play there and give the fans a good evening and a great party afterwards."

MAGNACULT is currently writing material for its as-yet-untitled sophomore album, tentatively due in early 2009. The group's debut, "Synor", was released in May 2007 via Rusty Cage Records. The CD was produced by the band themselves along with Jochem Jacobs (TEXTURES) and Bouke Visser and was mixed and mastered at the Split Second Sound Studio.

Musically the MAGNACULT members are influenced by many different bands, ranging from modern metal to death metal and beyond. "We always like to challenge ourselves with what we do," said guitarist D. "Putting the ladder a step higher every time and pushing you to the limits every day again. Come up with weird counts but not to confusing and most important still keeping the groove in the songs. That was where we were aiming for while writing the material."
