MACHINE HEAD's North American Tour To Feature No Support Acts

November 10, 2014

San Francisco Bay Area metallers MACHINE HEAD will embark on a North American headlining tour in January. The trek will feature no support bands — just a crushing two-hour set of "pure fucking MACHINE HEAD," according to a press release.

Says MACHINE HEAD guitarist/vocalist Robb Flynn: "We're doing 'An Evening With' MACHINE HEAD. Meaning it'll just be us, folks.

"We are really excited about the idea, playing longer sets, throwing in some deep cuts, and just having our own world.

"Promoters in the U.S. seem really stoked about it. Some have said it feels like 'an event.'"

In regards to the band’s decision to only headline for this touring cycle and no longer play festivals, Flynn said: "We’re not trying to have a good time with a bunch of people who don't know who we are.

"If MACHINE HEAD throws a party, big or small, we don't want a bunch of 'strangers' there. This is about us and you guys, the die-hards! The Fucking Undesirables! We don't care about the others out there. We're here and we're not going anywhere. If those people want to be a part of this, they know where to find us. So for the time being, and maybe 'forever,' we're done reaching out for them."

V.I.P. ticket packages are now on sale at machinehead.soundrink.com. Packages include a meet-and-greet with the band, group photo with MACHINE HEAD, poster, flag, laminate, and MACHINE HEAD koozie. In addition, everyone that purchases the VIP experience will be entered in a drawing to win an autographed "Bloodstone & Diamonds" electric guitar.
