MÖTLEY CRÜE's SIXX Apologizes To Fan Over Bottle-Throwing Incident

February 17, 2009

MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist Nikki Sixx has issued the following update:

"There was a recent event at one of our shows where someone threw a bottle at me during my speech and I got pretty pissed. The way it happened is, I threw a bottle of water to some fans and didn't realize the very bottle I threw to the fans was thrown back at me. I have to admit, bands get pretty pissed when people throw shit at you onstage. I didn't even think it was the same bottle, so with that being said, I'd like to say I'm sorry to the fan who threw the bottle back at me.

"These damn cliches seem to be true, like 'two wrongs don't make a right...'

"Rock 'n' roll, and temper tantrums…

"P.S.: These self-help books are really helping. Ha-Ha."

Video footage of Nikki Sixx tossing a bottle of water into the crowd during the band's February 2, 2009 concert in San Diego before having it thrown back at him, resulting in a one-minute onstage tirade by the bassist, can be viewed below.

A registered member of MÖTLEY CRÜE's official message board who goes by the name "roba156" posted the following account of the incident: "Nikki tosses his water bottle into the audience. The fat-ass' friend caught the bottle they passed it to one another then while Nikki was talking to the audience the fat-ass decided it would be clever to throw the bottle at Nikki's head, he literally had to duck or it would have hit him. I think she was a fan and not meaning any harm but she is still an idiot. Nikki got pissed, he thought it was couple of the guys standing around her and wanted to fight them, he even spit on one of them. He eventually found out who it was because a bunch of us were pointing out the fat-ass. Actually he looked at my [girlfriend] who was pointing at the fat-ass and waving top Nikki it was then that he ordered her to get out. And I read a post that said that he called her a horse, actually he said that 'she could suck his {censored}longer because she was a {censored}.' I guess she started to cry as they were escorting her out because Nikki said, in the most condescending tone, 'Ah, she's crying.' I tapped the mother of the family that was sitting next to them and said, 'Kind of poetic justice, huh?' She laughed. That fat {censored}totally had that coming to her."

The tour is slated to wind down in Portland, Maine, on March 18 and hit cities that Crüe Fest missed.

Another edition of Crüe Fest is in the works for this summer, with plans for a second stage and more acts. Other groups on the bill besides MÖTLEY CRÜE are yet to be unveiled.
