MÖTLEY CRÜE's NIKKI SIXX Talks About His Cars

June 26, 2003

Mark Phelan of Detroit Free Press recently caught up with MÖTLEY CRÜE's Nikki Sixx and spoke to him about his collection of cars.

Sixx's Vehicles: 1957 Chevy Bel Air, Porsche 996, Chevrolet Suburban, Ford Excursion, customized Harley-Davidson

Question: When did you get your 1957 Chevy? Nikki: "About 10 years ago. I bought it from a guy who restored it for his class reunion. It has a 454-cubic-inch V8 bored out to 510 inches and runs two-stage nitrous. It's a bad-ass ride. I drive it all the time."

Q: And the Harley? Nikki: "I've had a bunch of them. The Hard Rock hotel bought a lot of them to display. I've had this one about two years."

Q: What other vehicles do you own? Sixx: "I've got a 600-horsepower twin-turbo Porsche 996. I drive it all the time. Our family cars are a black Ford Excursion with a silver flame job and a black Chevrolet Suburban with a blue flame job."

Q: What do you like about cars? Sixx: "Automobiles are really an amazing drug for me. Everything about them. How they look, how they ride, how fast they go. I get into the '57 Chevy and I'm transported to another time."

Q: What's some good driving music? Sixx: "AC/DC, JUDAS PRIEST, THE BUZZCOCKS and, of course, THE RAMONES. From my own songs, I'd say 'Kick Start My Heart'."
