MÖTLEY CRÜE - GODSMACK Drum Battle On Tap For 'Crüe Fest 2'?

March 18, 2009

The Pulse of Radio reports: With MÖTLEY CRÜE boasting powerhouse drummer Tommy Lee and GODSMACK featuring two drummers — Shannon Larkin and singer Sully Erna, who started his career behind the kit — could the ultimate drum solo be in the cards for this summer's Crüe Fest 2? With a two-man drum battle already a regular part of GODSMACK's show, Lee and Erna told The Pulse of Radio how it could get even bigger. "It would probably be easier to pull off 'cause those two guys, you know, Shannon and Sully, are already onstage together," Lee said. "That could work, and my kit's probably set up somewhere in the vicinity there and we'll just figure it out." Erna added, "You gonna just see like Tommy in the background, playing along (laughs). He'll just always be there."

GODSMACK is part of the lineup confirmed on Monday (March 16) for MÖTLEY CRÜE's Crüe Fest 2 tour, which will also include THEORY OF A DEADMAN, DROWNING POOL, and new act CHARM CITY DEVILS.

The CRÜE, along with the other bands'vocalists, will perform a track called "White Trash Circus" on this Friday's (March 20) "Jimmy Kimmel Live!"

The trek, which will feature the CRÜE performing its 1989 album "Dr. Feelgood" in its entirety to celebrate its 20th anniversary, kicks off on July 19 in Camden, New Jersey.

GODSMACK will begin working on a new album shortly, although it won't be out until early 2010.
