'MÖTLEY CRÜE Day' In Erie, Pennsylvania

March 8, 2009

According to Glam-Metal.com, Erie, Pennsylvania mayor Joseph Sinnott declared March 7, 2009 "MÖTLEY CRÜE day" onstage last night during the band's performance at the Erie Civic Center. Sinnott said that he is a big MÖTLEY CRÜE fan, explaining that his first concert was MÖTLEY CRÜE back in 2006 at the same venue. He thanked the band for including Erie on their tour itinerary. The sold-out crowd roared in approval and the members of MÖTLEY CRÜE were all smiles following the announcement, with vocalist Vince Neil mentioning "MÖTLEY CRÜE day" several times during the remainder of the show.

A two-disc DVD set containing footage from last year's inaugural edition of MÖTLEY CRÜE's own festival-style package tour "Crüe Fest" is scheduled for release on March 24.

The web site of a Kansas City radio station recently listed MÖTLEY CRÜE, GODSMACK, THEORY OF A DEADMAN, SAVING ABEL and DROWNING POOL for the August 9 date of this summer's "Crüe Fest 2: The White Trash Circus" in the area. The listing has since been changed to simply read "Crüe Fest", and the official lineup has not been announced by the CRÜE or tour organizers. The bands will officially be announced on March 16 at a press conference in New York City, the same day that the CRÜE headlines Madison Square Garden on its current arena trek.

"Crüe Fest 2" will hit cities across North America beginning on July 19 in
Camden, New Jersey through September 5 in Darien Lake, New York.
