LORD BELIAL Bassist Undergoes Surgery

LORD BELIAL bassist Anders Backelin underwent surgery Thursday night (July 8),according to a posting on the band's web site. "Due to the related complications which may follow, Anders is ordered to take it easy for at least 6 months," the group write. "The top priority for LORD BELIAL right now is to let Anders rest and therefore we will not commence any live activities for the rest of the year. Instead we will work on new material. All booked gigs is canceled until further notice. We, the other members of LORD BELIAL wish Anders the best of luck!"

LORD BELIAL recently completed work on their new album, "The Seal of Belial". The CD was engineered by Nicklas Rudolfsson and Andy La Rocque (KING DIAMOND) at Los Angered Recording studios in Gothenburg, Sweden and was mixed by Andy. A late 2004 release through Regain Records is expected.
