Extreme metal supergroup LOCK UP has been forced to cancel its appearance at the Maryland Deathfest IX, set to take place May 26-29 in Baltimore.
Commented the band: "We regret to announce that LOCK UP will not be performing at this year's Maryland Deathfest. We are days away from the festival and our visas have yet to show up. Everything has been handled the right way but apparently things are taking longer these days due to a larger amounts of red tape and bureaucracy. We hope to make things up shortly when our visas actually arrive with some North American tour dates!"
LOCK UP will release its new album, "Necropolis Transparent", on July 1 in Europe and July 12 in North America via Nuclear Blast Records. The CD was recorded in November-December 2010 at HVR Studios in Ipswich, United Kingdom and was mixed in January.
"Necropolis Transparent" will feature guest appearances by HYPOCRISY/PAIN mainman (and one-time LOCK UP vocalist) Peter Tgtgren along with Jeff Walker (CARCASS, BRUJERIA).
According to a press release, "the songwriting and production on ['Necropolis Transparent'] surpasses everything the band has done so far. The speed, riffing and intensity make this record more than just a grindcore album and see LOCK UP come into their own true identity."

"Life Of Devastation" audio stream:
Originally formed by Shane Embury (NAPALM DEATH, VENOMOUS CONCEPT), Nick Barker (ex-CRADLE OF FILTH, DIMMU BORGIR) and Jesse Pintado (NAPALM DEATH, TERRORIZER) to blast out the most caustic, skin-flaying brand of deathgrind, LOCK UP was joined by the raw throat of Peter Tgtgren (HYPOCRISY) for its debut album, 1999's fearsome "Pleasure Pave Sewers", and Tomas Lindberg (AT THE GATES, DISFEAR) for 2002's "Hate Breeds Suffering", touring Japan and then falling into inactivity.
Now joined by guitarist Anton Reisenegger (Chile's PENTAGRAM, CRIMINAL) in place of the late Jesse Pintado, LOCK UP is back in the most uncompromising style possible.
