LINKIN PARK Gives Away Free Song To StageLight Music Users

December 11, 2012

On the heels of LINKIN PARK and Open Labs' launch of Windows PC music software StageLight, the band's founder, Mike Shinoda, composed and distributed a brand new song file direct to StageLight users via BitTorrent "as a thank you to all our early adopters."

StageLight is designed to give virtually anyone the ability to create a song they can share in minutes. With built-in support for the world's leading social sound platform — and priced at just $9.99 at www.openlabs.comStageLight is poised to open up the world of music creation to more people than ever before.

StageLight is a great solution for everyone on Windows 7 and 8. The software allows all levels of musicians to learn how to create and share their music on a PC. LINKIN PARK has not only used Open Labs products for the last four years in the studio and on stage, they have also been intimately involved in creating the current and future software product.

Shinoda, co-lead vocalist and producer of LINKIN PARK, said, "I would recommend StageLight to anyone. It doesn't matter if you're just starting or a touring professional. It's the perfect tool for anyone wanting to create or perform live."

The song Mike created with StageLight can be found here. He invites users to listen and manipulate it in their own version and add to it. Mike will be appearing at Dell World in Austin, Texas this week to do a live demo of the program.

LINKIN PARK, together with Open Labs and Dell, are also launching the Linkin Park Edition product line. It will include the StageLight software with customized and exclusive LINKIN PARK sounds on a high-performance Dell computer. The band is providing a robust library of sounds, loops and drum kits, allowing users to create their own songs using signature sounds created by the band. The Linkin Park Edition is available as of December 10, with LP sounds continuing to be updated throughout 2013.

LINKIN PARK has just announced a show at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas on Saturday, February 16. This will be the band's only North American show in 2013. Pre-sale for LINKIN PARK fan club members will be December 11. Tickets will go on sale to the public on Friday, December 14 at 10 a.m.
