LIMP BIZKIT Frontman On Free London Gig: 'It's Gonna Be A Big Day'

August 6, 2003

LIMP BIZKIT frontman Fred Durst recently spoke to Kerrang! magazine about the group's upcoming free, 30,000-capacity gig in London.

The unprecedented show, which takes place in Finsbury Park on Saturday, September 6, will see the band bring their full U.S. production and, for the first time, guitarist Mike Smith (ex-SNOT) to British shores.

The show is Durst's way of making it up to British fans for missing this year's Download Festival.

"We had some problems which meant we had to cancel our Download show and I promised that we'd make it up to our fans," Durst said. "We think people over there deserve a chance to see us and all they have to do is get a ride and come down. I'm working on putting together a great bill. It's gonna be a big day."

The gig will be British fans' first opportunity to hear material from LIMP BIZKIT's new album, which is released on September 23.

"If the crowd in London wants to hear some new stuff, we'll probably pull some out," said Durst. "You only get half of LIMP BIZKIT from the album, the other half comes into play when we play."

The as-yet-untitled effort, which was produced by Durst and mixed by Brendan O'Brien (PEARL JAM, STONE TEMPLE PILOTS, PAPA ROACH),will reportedly contain 16 tracks, including "Microphone Fiend", "Planet Rock", "Almost Over", and "Stick 'Em", as well as a collaboration with rapper Snoop Dogg.
