LEGION OF THE DAMNED: OCCULT Album To Be Reissued With Bonus Tracks

June 7, 2007

Dutch thrashers LEGION OF THE DAMNED (formerly OCCULT) have issued the following update:

"As many of you know by now, LEGION OF THE DAMNED, before they released 'Malevolent Rapture' and 'Sons of the Jackal' were operating under the name OCCULT. The last OCCULT album was also recorded by master producer Andy Classen and was the first album without the female singer they had that time, which was also one of main reason why OCCULT changed its name into LEGION OF THE DAMNED. The band agrees that this album belongs to the LEGION OF THE DAMNED collection and so the band and its record company, after buying back the rights for this album, decided they will re-release this masterpiece in January 2008 [via Massacre Records] along with two new songs and a cover!! The abum will be entitled 'Feel the Blade' and will also contain a bonus DVD."

Commented singer Maurice Swinkels: "This album is a classic, first time recording with Andy Classen; this album is fierce and exceptional aggressive. Many people stated that time, that this album was our answer to SLAYER's 'Reign in Blood'. The album [at] that time was nowhere to find in shops, so I am really excited and happy that this album will be out again and re-released under the name LEGION OF THE DAMNED along with a killer new package with alot of bonus material on it, plus a bonus DVD, so value for money! A lot of people asked for it, and we can't wait until we can play those songs live again in 2008!"

"Sons of the Jackal" entered the German national album chart at position No. 54 back in January. The follow-up to 2006's "Malevolent Rapture" was recorded at Stage One studio in Bühne, Germany with producer Andy Classen.

LEGION OF THE DAMNED was one of the support acts on the recent European co-headlining tour featuring Germany's KREATOR and Switzerland's CELTIC FROST.
