LED ZEPPELIN: Toronto ZEPFEST Scheduled For Late August

July 20, 2004

This year LED ZEPPELIN fans will be gathering together on the weekend of August 26-28 for events taking place at The Phoenix and Healey's. It's almost thirty-five years to the day that LED ZEPPELIN gave two highly publicized shows at the Toronto Rockpile on August 18, 1969. Here's a rundown of the events scheduled for this weekend:

August 26: The Phoenix 9PM Classic Albums Live present their performance of the "Physical Graffiti". This is not a tribute band performance of the album. Instead, show producer Craig Martin has assembled a group of professionally trained musicians to give a note for note performance of the album. Advance Tickets are $12 and tickets at the door are $15 and are available from the Phoenix or Zepfest.com.

August 27: Comfort Suites Hotel, Mulock Room Zepfest Pre-Convention Party. This event is more of just a social gathering for LED ZEPPELIN fans to socialize and get to know each other. Tickets are $10 and are available in advance from Zepfest.com.

August 28: 11AM-3:30 PM Healey's. Zepfest will be taking place at Healey's. Among the activities taking place will be video screenings, merchandise for sale such as books magazines t-shirts, posters, etc. A photo exhibit and display will be set up by LED ZEPPELIN photographer Frank Melfi and this will include his works from 1975 to 2002. More activities to be announced. Tickets are $10 each. And are available from Healey's or Zepfest.com.

August 28: 8PM Healey's. Toronto LED ZEPPELIN tribute band ZEPPELINESQUE will be performing. In addition to that, there will be a presentation of an autographed guitar signed by Jimmy Page. During ZEPPELINESQUE's last show at Healey's a raffle was held in support of ABC Trust for a personalized autographed signed by Jimmy Page. The winner of this raffle will be presented with the guitar by a member of the ABC Trust Charity. Advance tickets are $10 each available at Healey's or Zepfest.com.

ABC Trust (Action for Brazil's Children) assists children in Brazil and Jimmy Page has been actively involved as a patron and co-founder since 1998. There will be ABC fund-raising events taking place at the events at the Phoenix and Healey's as well.
