KORPIKLAANI To Release First DVD And Live CD

February 12, 2016

Finnish folk metallers KORPIKLAANI are working on their first-ever DVD release. The DVD will contain exclusive live footage filmed across two shows in 2015, with more live footage due to be filmed this year. A sensational live CD will also accompany the release.

KORPIKLAANI frontman Jonne Järvelä commented: "Finally we can release our first ever DVD, with not just one show but from some of our favorite cities and festivals. We are also recording all shows on our upcoming tour for a bonus live CD, along with the recent tours in 2015. This will be the first of many more to come in future!"

Part of the DVD footage has been filmed at their Volta, Moscow show (April 2015) and their Teatro Vorterix, Buenos Aires show (December 2015). Further footage is due to be filmed at their upcoming performances at Melkweg, Amsterdam (April 10) and at Masters of Rock festival in the Czech Republic (July 14-17) this year.

The audio for the CD will be recorded during KORPIKLAANI's upcoming U.K. tour alongside MOONSORROW this April.

KORPIKLAANI's DVD and live CD will be released in early 2017.

KORPIKLAANI and MOONSORROW will join forces for co-headline tour, "Finnish Folk Metal Mafia Tour", this April.

KORPIKLAANI's latest album, "Noita", was released in May 2015 in North America via Nuclear Blast. Recorded at Petrax Studio with Aksu Hanttu producing, recording and mixing again, it is the band's first CD to feature new accordion player Sami Perttula, who played a very active role in the folk arrangements along with fiddler Tuomas Rounakari.
