KISS: Dates For Italy, Russia Announced

January 31, 2008

According to a posting on the KISS fan site KissNews.de, KISS will play shows in Italy and Russia in May. The group's schedule is now shaping up as follows:

Mar. 16 - Melbourne, Australia - Ing F1 Grand Prix
Mar. 18 - Brisbane, Australia - Entertainment Center
Mar. 20 - Sydney, Australia - Acer Arena
Mar. 22 - Wellington, New Zealand - ROCK2WTGN Festival
May 13 - Verona, North-East Italy - Arena Di Verona
May 26 - St. Petersburg, Russia - Lednikovyj Dvorec

KISS guitarist/vocalist Paul Stanley confirmed this past Monday night (January 28) that KISS will tour Europe in May and June. They will play arena and stadium shows.

Swedish newspaper Dagens Nyheter reported last month that KISS is strongly rumored to be planning a headlining concert May 30 at Stockholm Stadion, an outdoor 30,000-seater arena. Although Swedish promoter EMA Telstar has reportedly reserved the date as an option for KISS to play at the Stadion, the show has **NOT** been confirmed as yet, however, and should be treated as a rumor only.

Paul Stanley was forced to pull out of the band's July 27, 2007 show in San Jacinto, California, about 90 miles (145 km) east of Los Angeles when his heart started beating at more than twice the normal level.

Stanley wrote on his web site that he was advised performing would be risky, and the show went on without him. Fellow principal Gene Simmons told fans the group would play as a trio, and turned the show into a tribute to his ailing bandmate.
Former KISS members Peter Criss and Bruce Kulick will be interviewed over the phone for tonight's (January 31) edition of the "world-famous" "Kiss This" special, which is scheduled to air at 8:00 p.m. PST / 11:00 p.m. EST.
