KILLSWITCH ENGAGE: 'The End Of Heartache' Certified Gold

November 19, 2007

Genre-defining metal titans KILLSWITCH ENGAGE have officially received their first RIAA gold certification for their sophomore Roadrunner release, "The End of Heartache". Featuring breakthrough radio hits "Rose of Sharyn" and the Grammy-nominated "The End of Heartache", the album was released on May 11, 2004 and experienced a steady rise to gold status. The album was hailed as "a stunning collection retaining much of their signature musical brutality but teasing with electric hooks, strategic use of silence" by Rolling Stone and organically received a mass of critical acclaim.

"The End of Heartache" elevated KILLSWITCH ENGAGE into the mainstream scope and was a catalyst for the band’s inclusion in national tours such as Taste of Chaos, Ozzfest and Vans Warped Tour.

Continuing to push musical boundaries, the band is gearing up to embark on a U.S. co-headlining U.S. tour with LAMB OF GOD, kicking off November 28 and running until December 17. The band's latest single, "Holy Diver", from the special edition of their current album "As Daylight Dies", is secure in the top 15 of the Active Rock chart and continues to climb.

The band was presented RIAA gold plaques on November 7 at the Roadrunner Records office in New York City.
