Killer Of Original GRAND FUNK RAILROAD Manager Convicted

Launch Radio Networks reports: The man who killed original GRAND FUNK RAILROAD manager Terry Knight was convicted of the crime Wednesday (April 27). Donald Alan Fair, who was dating Knight's daughter, was found guilty by a jury after just 40 minutes of deliberation, according to Texas TV station KCEN. Knight was stabbed to death when he tried to intervene in a domestic dispute between his daughter and Fair at the apartment they all shared in Temple, Texas.

Knight managed GRAND FUNK in their early days, but he was fired in 1972. After that, both he and the band went back-and-forth with each other on a series of multi-million-dollar lawsuits.

Before his time with GRAND FUNK in the late '60s, Knight was an established member of the Michigan music scene with his band TERRY KNIGHT & THE PACK, which included future GRAND FUNK singer-guitarist Mark Farner and singer-drummer Don Brewer.
