KID ROCK And PAMELA: Romance Heating Up Again

July 17, 2003

Dirk Meissner of Canadian Press is reporting that "Detroit rapper Kid Rock and Canadian bikini knockout Pamela Anderson gave all indications the couple's reportedly on-again, off-again romance was definitely back on during a celebrity fundraising event in Victoria, star watchers said Wednesday (July 16).

"But there still isn't a wedding date.

"It was reported last month that Anderson's romance with Rock was on the rocks after an April engagement announcement.

"Since then, rumors were rampant the wedding was off and the couple was breaking up.

"There were no signs of a split in Victoria.

" 'It definitely seemed like they were hanging out, for sure,' said Deirdre Campbell, a Victoria public relations businesswoman who met the couple. 'I would say that they were partners.'

"A British Columbia cabinet minister said he couldn't help but take notice of Rock and Anderson at a dinner last Friday to raise money for mental health facilities.

" 'They certainly looked very happy together," said Dr. Gulzar Cheema, minister of state for mental health, who spoke at the event.

" 'But they were both supporting the important cause of mental health. That may have had something to do with it.'

"Anne MacLaurin, a Victoria publicist, said she watched Rock and Anderson at several different events in and became convinced they are a solid couple.

"They held hands at Victoria International Airport last Friday after getting off a private jet and stuck close to each at other weekend events, she said.

" 'They were definitely together at the gala (dinner and auction Friday),' said MacLaurin. 'He was getting things for her. The couply-thing. Looking after her, getting drinks.'

"The 32-year-old Rock, whose real name is Bob Ritchie, played down the wedding bells angle when questioned.

" 'Married? Does anybody really care at the end of the day?' the Victoria Times Colonist quoted Rock in their Sunday edition." Read more.
