KATATONIA Drummer Becomes A Father

KATATONIA drummer Daniel Liljekvist became a father Thursday night (Nov. 20) when his girlfriend Johanna gave birth to the couple's first child, a daughter.

As previously reported, KATATONIA guitarist Anders Nyström (a.k.a. Blakkheim) recently entered Studio Castillo in Stockholm with engineer David Castillo (live sound engineer for KATATONIA) to begin recording the fifth album from his side-project DIABOLICAL MASQUERADE. The follow-up to 2001's "Death's Design" will be a musical "cross between 'Nightwork' (1998) and 'Death's Design' — in other words lots of horror, weirdness and METAL!" according to the band's official web site. An early 2004 release through Avantgarde Music is expected.
