KATAGORY V Prepare To Record New Album

August 9, 2004

Utah-based progressive/power metal band KATAGORY V have completed the pre-production process for their new album, tentatively titled "The Rising Anger". The band are now moving into rehearsal phase and are scheduled to start recording the album at Streamline studios at the end of September.

The complete list of songs to appear on the follow-up to "A New Breed of Rebellion" is as follows:

01. Enemy
02. Fading In...
03. The Rising Anger
04. Risk & Sacrifice
05. Leave Us Behind
06. Hostile Takeover
07. Will You Remember
08. Liberated Minds
09. Drained
10. The Elitist

According to bassist Dustin Mitchell, the new album will have a "thicker, heavier sound" than the band's previous efforts, featuring a bit more dynamics, with many of the songs described as more "straight-ahead with an emphasis on melodies & hooks." He has also stated that the new album shows a return to their roots in early Bay Area/European thrash.

KATAGORY V have once again enlisted talented German artist Rainer Kalwitz (MILLENIUM, MARK BOALS, SHADOW GALLERY, EMERALD RAIN, TAD MOROSE) to create the artwork for the new album.
