JETBOY Parts Ways With Drummer, Announces Replacement

November 15, 2008

California rockers JETBOY have announced the addition of drummer Doug Hovan to the group's ranks. Hovan will be replacing Jeff Moscone, who will be lending his youthful enthusiasm to a host of new projects.

"It's never easy losing an accomplished musician like Jeff," said rhythm guitar player and co-founding member Billy Rowe. "That being said, everyone in the band feels really fortunate that a drummer the caliber of Doug Hovan was not only available, but excited at the opportunity to join the JETBOY family."

"Doug has a wide-ranging skill set," added lead guitarist Fernie Rod. "Not many people realize that Doug is not only a drummer, but also a talented songwriter and lyricist."

Among Doug's accomplishments in the area of songwriting include the tune "Rosegarden", which appeared in the film "The Water Dance", starring Wesley Snipes.

Doug Hovan brings with him a lengthy pedigree that includes a stint in SWAY, as well as playing with musicians such as Danny West (VAIN),Ron Yokum (SEAHAGS) and John Torres (LAAZ ROCKET).

JETBOY recently completed a successful summer tour that saw the band play Rocklahoma, Rock The Bayou and the South Texas Rock Fest. JETBOY is playing isolated club dates in California, while preparing to enter the studio to record. The band is also working on an ambitious tour currently slated to begin in summer 2009.
