JAKE E. LEE Interviewed On VH1 CLASSIC's 'That Metal Show': Entire Episode Posted Online

June 24, 2013

Former OZZY OSBOURNE and BADLANDS guitarist Jake E. Lee was interviewed on this past weekend's episode of VH1 Classic's "That Metal Show". You can now watch the entire program below.

As previously reported, drummer Darren Smith of Canadian metallers WARMACHINE has been named the lead vocalist for Lee's new band, JAKE E. LEE'S RED DRAGON CARTEL.

JAKE E. LEE'S RED DRAGON CARTEL, which references the axeman's Japanese roots, also features Ronnie Mancuso (BEGGARS & THIEVES) on bass and Jonas Fairley (BLACK BETTY) on drums.

Recorded at Las Vegas' The Hideout Studios — owned and operated by Kevin Churko (OZZY OSBOURNE, FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH, IN THIS MOMENT) — JAKE E. LEE'S RED DRAGON CARTEL's debut album will feature a combination of legendary rock artists and some of the biggest names of new metal. Already recorded are guest appearances by Robin Zander (CHEAP TRICK),Paul Di'Anno (IRON MAIDEN),Maria Brink (IN THIS MOMENT),with many other big names attached to the project.

"Tales From The Stage Volume 1" author Michael Toney, who recently got a taste of some of the songs for the project, said: "The two new tracks that I have heard [from JAKE E. LEE'S RED DRAGON CARTEL] are very impressive, and are incredibly fresh sounding — but not really in the same family as [Jake's] work with BADLANDS or OZZY. It's still hard rock, but perhaps a bit more melodic."

"That Metal Show" premiered on VH1 Classic in November 2008 and since then has become the only place for all things hard rock and heavy metal on cable television. The show has been visited by some of the biggest names in hard rock and heavy metal including members of BLACK SABBATH, AEROSMITH, METALLICA, PANTERA, JUDAS PRIEST, ANTHRAX, KISS, IRON MAIDEN, PEARL JAM, QUEENSRŸCHE, and HEART. Fans can also catch the complete season 11 and bonus clips at ThatMetalShow.VH1.com.

"That Metal Show" is a production of VH1 Classic. Lee Rolontz, Jeff Baumgardner, and Keshia Williams are executive producers for VH1 Classic.
