It's Official: DIRGE WITHIN Signs With E1 MUSIC

May 20, 2009

As BLABBERMOUTH.NETfirst reported on May 14, DIRGE WITHIN (formerly DIRGE),the new metal band featuring ex-SOIL guitarist Shaun Glass, THE DOOMSDAY SOCIAL drummer James Knight (ex-THE BLANK THEORY, CHACOPA),vocalist Jeremy "Jerms" Genske, bassist Brian Paz and guitarist Matt Szlachta, has now officially inked a worldwide, multi-album deal with E1 Music (formerly Koch Records). The group has also entered into a co-publishing and exclusive administration deal.

Due on September 1, DIRGE WITHIN's debut album, "Force Fed Lies", was recently mixed by Jeff Rose and Martin "Ginge" Ford of Nott-In-Pill studios in Newport, Wales, United Kingdom. Edsel Dope (DOPE) produced the effort alongside Chris Djuricic (Studio One). The CD will feature guest appearances by Corey Beaulieu of TRIVUM and Michael Angelo Batio of NITRO fame.

Commented Glass: "We are ecstatic to be part of the new E1 family. Joining a roster of wicked bands and having a metal brother like the one and only Scott Givens as our artist relations guy is amazing. We are mega excited to be working with such amazing people at our new home."

E1 VP of Metal, Scott Givens, added: "DIRGE WITHIN are, in my opinion, one of the true leaders of a new wave of American metal and I couldn't be happier to add them to E1 Music's constantly growing metal roster."

Shaun previously described the upcoming CD as "one well-rounded album; from shreddin solos and flying double bass to machine-gun riffage, this album really has it all, and is hands down the best album I have ever made; no bullshittin' here, people."

The band has played shows alongside such acts as GOD FORBID, NILE, DEATH ANGEL and PRONG. DIRGE also took part in the June 2008 Jägermeister Music Tour dates with HATEBREED, TYPE O NEGATIVE, and 3 INCHES OF BLOOD as well as the July 2008 Jägermeister Music Tour with DOPE and KITTIE.
