Israel's THE FADING Wins 'Wacken Open Air Metal Battle'

Israel's THE FADING was selected as the winner of the Wacken Open Air Metal Battle at this year's Wacken Open Air festival, which was held July 31 - August 2, 2008 in Wacken, Germany. In addition to a record deal with Wacken Records, THE FADING landed a full endorsement deal with both Eden bass equipment and Washburn Guitars. They were also given a Mapex drum set and a Marshall guitar amp.

According to the festival organizers, more than 100 bands from sixteen different countries took part in this year's Metal Battle. The final decision was made an international jury, which included former HAMMERFALL bassist Magnus Rosén.
