IRON MAIDEN's Official Bulletin Board Coming To An End

March 5, 2006

IRON MAIDEN have decided to close down their 25,000-member-strong official Bulletin Board effective March 7, 2006. As consolation, the band are offering fans a chance to join an Online Club costing £10. Meanwhile, official MAIDEN fan club members will get the Online Club membership for "free."

The decision to shut down the forum has lead to a storm of angry postings on the Bulletin Board, where a lot of the people that have been members since 1998 have expressed their disappointment over the board coming to an end. Several forum members have speculated that this move is linked to Sanctuary Music Group's (parent company of MAIDEN's management) recent financial troubles, but this has not been corroborated by an official source.

You can read the official closing statement here. The board can be accessed at this location (for the next two days only).
