ION VEIN Part Ways With Guitarist, Seek Replacement

February 13, 2004

Chicago prog/power metallers ION VEIN have parted ways with longtime guitarist John Malufka. "John has been a member of the band since 1997 and after pursuing a career in music for almost 20 years now, he feels he's gotten the most out of it and will now be happy focusing completely on his personal life," the band said in an official statement.

"The chemistry we had together along with his fantastic guitar playing and attitude will be sorely missed. We certainly wish him all the best in life and want to take this time to thank him for all the great years and great memories we shared together.

"John's last official show will be February 28th at JJ Kelley's in Lansing, IL for Chicago Powerfest 2004. Visit www.chicagopowerfest.com for all event details and www.ionvein.com for all ION VEIN info.

"Interested pro-caliber guitarists should send resumes, soundclip links, etc. to [email protected] with 'guitarist' in the subject line."
