INVOCATOR Part Ways With Bassist

September 6, 2004

Bassist Carsten Mikkelsen has left long-running Danish thrashers INVOCATOR "due to lack of interest," according to a posting on the group's web site. For the time being, the band will carry on as a three-piece.

Mikkelsen made his recorded debut with INVOCATOR on the "Dying To Live" CD — the band's last album before they split up in 1995, and rejoined the group in 2002 in time for the 2003 comeback record "Through The Flesh To The Soul". Carsten also organized the band's entire extensive Danish tour with MERCENARY that took place in the winter of 2003. "INVOCATOR regrets but respects his decision," the group write on their web site. "We thank him for his years of hard work and dedication and wish him all the best in the future."

In other news, INVOCATOR mainman Jacob Hansen has been busy putting down rhythm and bass guitar tracks for Danish progressive metallers BEYOND TWILIGHT's new album, which will be released on Massacre Records. The recording sessions for the album are taking place at Jacob's Hansen Studios in Ribe, Denmark.

BEYOND TWILIGHT's last album, "The Devil's Hall of Fame", featured vocals by acclaimed hard rock/metal singer Jorn Lande (MASTERPLAN, ex-YNGWIE MALMSTEEN),but the band are currently trying out other vocalists for the upcoming record.
