IN FLAMES/HAMMERFALL Producer 'Not A Fan' Of 'St. Anger' Production

DREAM EVIL guitarist Fredrik Nordström, who has produced albums from such acclaimed metal artists as IN FLAMES, HAMMERFALL, DIMMU BORGIR and THE HAUNTED, has spoken out about his dislike for the production on the latest METALLICA album, "St. Anger". Asked in an interview with "The Classic Metal Show" if he's heard the most recent METALLICA release, Nordström said, "I heard one song on the radio, and that didn't make me go crazy and buy the album. Actually, it did the opposite. I'm not a fan of Bob Rock's production, not with this album...I think it tries to have a back-to-basics, rehearsal room type of sound, but somewhere on the way it failed.

"I think that some people love that album, and some people hate it," he added. "I'm one of those guys that loved the 'Black Album'. The song (off 'St. Anger') that I heard was quite fast, but it was like, 'Oh, no.' I'm a big fan of the 'Black Album', for example."
