Sundsvall, Sweden-based death metallers IN BATTLE have resurfaced with a new lineup and material for a new album, tentatively due in early 2004 through an as-yet-undetermined label. Joining original members John Frölén (guitar) and John Odhinn Sandin (vocals) in the new formation are Hasse Karlsson (a.k.a. Diabolical, guitar),Nils Fjällström (a.k.a. Aeon, drums) and Chastaintment (bass). IN BATTLE's forthcoming album will be recorded in March 2004 at Erik Rutan's (HATE ETERNAL/ex-MORBID ANGEL) Mana studio in Florida. Rutan will produce the effort, the material on which is being described as "aggressive death metal [done] in a new raw way. The music contains splendorous drum/guitar work, vocals goes from aggressive SLAYER chants to raw death 'n' dark vocal."

IN BATTLE recently recorded a four-song promotional demo, titled "Soul Metamorphosis", and are currently seeking a record deal. The group had previously released two albums (1997's "In Battle" and 1998's "The Rage Of The Northmen") through Austria's Napalm Records.
